HMAS Newcastle was the first Adelaide class frigate built in Australia. The oldest vessels in this class, including the Adelaide and Sydney, are due to be replaced in the next few years, so I am guessing it won't be long for the Newcastle either. Judging by the amount of time they spend parked at Woolloomooloo, you'd have to wonder why we bother having a navy at all.
