Ran into a Nikon gear head at the dragon boat races today. "Have you got a grip for that thing? Oh no? This thing allows me to take six frames more per second." I know I would make a terrible sports photographer, because I come from a pretty old fashion school of thought where you should think about the shot you are taking at least long enough to compose, if not focus[1]. He was friendly enough, but I can't help but think how out of touch I have been with photography. I felt like a couple of years ago I was up on all the new wiz-bang technologies, but with the advent of digital everything is moving so much faster now.

- I am of course being unfair to real sports photographers, because in reality there is quite a bit of art to that and they really do need to compose their shots, they just have to compose them quickly!
